What to Expect

Directions and Drive Times to Raftone's Ocoee River Rafting Outpost:

When to Arrive:

For any activity at RaftOne, arrive 30 minutes prior to your trip time. This gives you enough time to check-in, get dressed, sign waivers if needed, and meet some of the guides.

Eastern Time: Remember that we’re in the Eastern Time Zone, so if you’re coming from the Central Time Zone (Nashville for example), then we are one hour later than you are. If it is 2:00pm Central Time, then it is 3:00pm Eastern Time.

What to Wear:

Everything you wear on your Ocoee River rafting trip will get wet, so bring a towel, and a change of clothes with you. RaftOne provides all of your necessary gear for rafting: PFD (life jacket), paddle, and helmet.

You must bring shorts, a shirt, or a swimsuit (we recommend quick-dry clothing avoiding cotton because it stays wet and cold), and shoes that will stay on your feet (river shoes such as Keens, Chacos, etc., or even old tennis or running shoes will work). Please don’t wear flip-flops or Crocs on the river, you’re more likely to lose them.

Click here for a full description of what to wear on your Ocoee rafting trip at different times of the year.

Since Ocoee is a dam-controlled river, we raft on the Ocoee River every day as per the schedule followed by TVA to release water. To see the schedule of Ocoee River releases click here.

We have been known to delay trips on a very rare occasion, such as a tornado, but we have never had to cancel a trip because of bad weather. If your Ocoee rafting trip is in the Spring or late Fall check our What to Wear Ocoee Rafting page in order to bring appropriate clothing for your excursion so you’ll be comfortable.

Ocoee River water temperature: The water in the Ocoee River comes from Lake Blue Ridge. The water comes off the top of the lake, so most of the year it’s exceptionally warm.

Click here for a month-to-month description of Ocoee water temperatures and general Ocoee weather.
